Did You Know???

Most interstate highways are designated by one or two-digit numbers: east to west routes carry even numbers that increase from south to north, and north to south routes carry odd numbers that increase from west to east.

Feed 101

Ok...so you open your inbox and there in front of you are more emails than you care to see in one place......and lots of them are very interesting and you'd LIKE to read them but there are just TOO many!

So what is the solution, you ask??? Enter.....the FEED!

Look on the address line of this blog....at the end of it... what do you see? ...a little orange thingy with white lines in it... there... it's called a "chicklet" or more techie... a "feed icon". If you don't see it, you may have to use Firefox or IE for your browser. It means that if you had a "Feed Reader" you could click on that icon and add it to your Reader and every time there was a change to my blog, you would get a headline of the change and could choose to read it or not. By getting only headlines you can VERY quickly determine what you choose to read and what you could care less about. Oh... and then if you change your mind...it's still there for you to come back to.

On the home page, you'll see 2 feeds at the end of the blog from the National Association of Realtors.... cool huh?? To get more detailed information, check out this... Feed 101

Tomorrow... the READERS!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So... now.. I use Google Reader so that's what I'm familiar with. When you subscribe to a feed, Google Reader starts monitoring that feed for updates. You don't have to give any public information, it doesn't cost a dime AND it's easy to unsubscribe!
New content posted to your subscriptions will appear in Google Reader the same way that new emails addressed to you show up in your email account. This way you can keep up with all your favorite sites in one place without having to visit each one individually!
I find that when I use Firefox I can sign up for feeds with no problem. Internet Explorer wants me to read my feeds somewhere other than on Google so they give me a problem and as of today Google Chrome just doesn't know how to make their reader work with their browser!!
Real Estate Wiki – A dictionary, encyclopedia, glossary for real estate.
WIKI....What the heck is a WIKI??? Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, defines a Wiki as:
A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites.
Clear, huh? Let's keep it simple... it's a web site where everyone can add stuff about the topic. And so....da...da... the REAL ESTATE WIKI!! Here is the intro....
Real Estate Wiki was created to be the most exhaustive compendium of real estate information anywhere. A one-stop dictionary, directory, encyclopedia, glossary and guide for the real estate and mortgage industries. The goal is to provide real estate information objectively, balanced and without any prejudice to everyone - real estate brokers, real estate agents, real estate service providers, real estate educators, etc. and of course the home owners as well as potential home buyers and home sellers - this at no cost and without the distraction of advertising or bias.
Want to see a REAL Blog?
Did you click on the title and check out the Real Estate Blog of an agent in Minneapolis? I'll bet people use it as a resource and remember her name when they want to buy or sell! And, I've been reading that real estate Blogs are a better choice than doing a website... hhmmm...
....and here is another!
Lost your cell phone??
Lost your cell phone and you don't have a land line or anyone home to call you? This isn't going to happen to everyone but it happens to me. I just discovered this website where I can go online, enter my number and it will call my phone! Also, I can call myself at other times as a reminder to do something . Check it out! Laurel
